David Schweitzer

David Schweitzer was born on May 3rd, 1975, in London. David is an award-winning composer and has scored more than 100 film and television projects.He began playing guitar and piano at the age of eleven and joined a band that played modern romantic songs. Schweitzer then started writing classical music. At 16, he wrote a Requiem for choir and orchestra. Then Schweitzer went to College at Oxford University to learn about music more intensely. He learned about how music could work with moving pictures at the National Film and Television School. After leaving the NFTS that he started writing music for a lot of television documentaries as well as drama like Britain From Above and excited series such as Charlie & Lola, he is a multi-instrumentalist, from writing an orchestral score to creating wild soundscapes on his modular synth setup.

He is well known for his music for some of the most enigmatic animated shows, which include Charlie & Lola, and Angry Birds Story soon >> Read More... , and so on. His recent works include writing music for the Working Title production of Emma with Isobel Waller-Bridge, Moon Landing Live and, The Kingmaker with Jocelyn Pook. David has also written for The White Princess with John Lunn, Victoria with Ruth Barrett and, many more. His other famous works also include a National Geographic documentary Inside North Korea s Dynasty and music for animated shows Digby Dragon, Aliens Love Underpants, for which he was nominated for BAFTA.

For his work on Charlie & Lola, he was awarded an RTS award in 2007 for Best Original Score.
