Henry Mancini was an American Composer, arranger, pianist, conductor, and flutist is cited as one of the greatest composers in the history of film. He had won twenty Grammy Awards and seventy-two nominations, four Academy Awards and eighteen nominations for the same. Mancini’s works include Breakfast at Tiffany’s, Pink Panther film series, Peter Gunn. He also scored a number one hit single during the rock era on the Hot 100. Mancini created a scholarship at UCLA. Henry Mancini Arts Academy was opened as a division of the Lincoln Park Performing Arts Center. He died of pancreatic cancer in LA, 1994.
