John Byner was born on 28th June 1938 in New York City. He is an actor, comedian, and impressionist from the United States. He's worked in the cinema and television industries. His voice work includes the animated comedy “The Ant and the Aardvark.” Byner's impersonation of Dean Martin and Jackie Mason play the lead roles. Byner is the son of Michael Biener, a truck mechanic, and Christina Biener, a psychiatric nurse. He was born in New York City as John Biener. Byner has four children from his first marriage to Eleanor Belcher. Don (Donny) Byner, one of his children, resembles his father. He debuted on TV as a leprechaun on "Captain's Log with Captain Mark Gray." In 1992, he married Anne Gaybis.

John imitated Ed Sullivan and many others on “The Ed Sullivan Show.” The show is his first television appearance. He also sings like Dean Martin and Johnny Mathis. He impersonated John Wayne on several occasions. His ability to emulate "Toastmaster General" George Jessel proved handy during his appearances on panel shows such as celebrity "roasts" and other tributes. He played a KAOS agent named the Chief of Control (played by Edward Platt). In a 1967 episode of "Get Smart," an agent Maxwell Smart (Don Adams) replaced him.

Byner portrayed a cruise ship comic in season 6 of "Hawaii Five-O." His character, Duffy Malone, emulated John Wayne. The bad man smacked him in the back of the head as a distraction.
