Daniel Lapaine

Daniel Lapaine is a professional Australian actor, born on 15 June 1971 in Sydney, South Wales. He completed his graduation from the prestigious National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA) in 1992. He is not only an actor but a writer and director as well. He is currently living in London with his family.

Lapaine made his debut with the P.J. Hogan’s comedy hit “Muriel’s Wedding” in 1994. In his debut film, he played the role of South African swimmer David Van Arkle who is waiting in the titular event at the end of the aisle. Following many movies and television shows, In 2011, he made his first appearance in the UK TV show “ Black Mirror The black mirror is popular sci-fi anthology serie >> Read More... ” as the suspicious Max in “The Entire History of You”. Recent years, Lapaine had worked in many films, including the Oscar winning “zero dark thirty,” “last chance Harvey,” “Hamlet,” “Richard III,” and “ Shanghai Click to look into! >> Read More... .”  Also played the leading role in Pathe’s “The Abduction Club.”

Lapaine played a popular character as Dave in all four series of ‘ Catastrophe Catastrophe is a British sitcom, which used to air >> Read More... ’,  which is titled as ‘the best new comedy of the year’. In the series ‘Versailles’, he portrayed as King Charles II. In his next film, ‘Moonshot’ of 2009, he performed as Neil Armstrong. He also worked in the action movie “Double Jeopardy”. Including all these remarkable works, Lapaine wrote and directed 48 shades, the Australian featured film. It is based on the novel of 1999, “48 Shades of Brown” by Nick Earls. The following movie was released in 2006 in Australia by Buena Vista. Several of his writings are produced on stage  including  “Cloud Cuckoo land” and “The White room”.  Besides all the hard work, he faced pretty amount of criticism in his early adulthood for his looks but overcoming all this hate, he always returned with great comebacks. He is married to Fay Ripley, who is an English actress. Being an incredible actor, he portrayed an extensive variety of characters in his acting life.
