Mickey Rourke

Mickey Rourke’s full name is Philip Andre Mickey Rourke Jr. He is an actor, screenwriter, music supervisor, and a boxer by profession. He was born on the 16th of September in 1952 in Schenectady which is situated in New York, US. He belonged to a family that followed Roman Catholic’s faith, and hence the same got inherited into him. His father was Philip Andre Rourke Sr. and his mother was Annette. His parents had a divorce when he was just six years old. After his father left them, his mother married another man named Eugene Addis who was a police officer. He completed his graduation in 1971 from the school named “Miami Beach Senior High School.” He got married twice.

His first wife was Debra Feuer whom he married in 1981 and divorced in 1989 but, it is heard that they remained good friends afterward. Later, he married Carre Otis in 1992 which lasted only for a few years, and they got divorced in December 1998. He was arrested on a charge of spousal abuse which was later removed, and he was freed from all these charges. When he was in his teenage, he learned boxing and took part in many boxing tournaments. He won many matches like the 5th Street Gym which was conducted in Miami Beach, Florida. After experiencing a concussion twice, he was advised rest by his doctors. He could not do boxing for a long time and was on a break from his boxing career.

His career as a boxer ended in the year 1994 after he took retirement from it. After that, he re-entered into the film industry as an actor. Before boxing, he acted in a large number of films. After his comeback into this industry, he worked as a supporting actor in many pictures. He made his comeback as the lead actor of Hollywood in the year 2005 with the film “Sin City” which was an action thriller. He received many awards for this film such as the Chicago Film Critics Association award and the Irish Film and Television Awards. He won awards in the category of Best actor in many award shows such as BAFTA Awards, Academy Awards, Independent Spirit Awards, Florida Film Critics Award, Satellite awards and many more for the same. He also won awards like Scream Awards and MTV Movie Awards for Best Villain category. He got the award for Best International Actor in Irish Film and Television awards.
