Ariane Labed is a French film actress. She was born on May 8, 1984, in Athens, Greece. Although her parents were both French, she was born and raised up in Germany, Greece, and France. She studied dance for ten years before she took a theater class at Université de Provence in France. Ariane was one of the founders of Vasistas Theatre Company, where she made several performances. Her performance as a sexually inexperienced girl, who lives with her ill father, earned him the Best Actress Award at the Coppa Volpi (Venice Film Festival). She was also awarded "Mademoiselle Ladubay" Best Actress Prize at the Angers European Film Festival and Best Actress at the Hellenic Film Academy Awards. She was next seen playing the role of a gymnast in Yorgos Lanthimos’ Greek drama film, Alps, in 2011. The following year, she appeared in the Greek short film, The Capsule. In 2013, Ariane was seen in films like Before Midnight and A Place on Earth.

In 2014, she starred as Alice in Lucie Borleteau’s French drama film, Fidelio: Alice’s Odyssey, where she earned nominations for Most Promising Actress at the Lumières Award and César Award. In 2015, Ariane played as Alicia Warlock, a chambermaid, in the Canadian romantic mystery comedy-drama film, The Forbidden Room. The same year, she played as the maid in Lanthimos’ absurdist dystopian comedy-drama film, The Lobster. She later played as Caroline in Antoine Cuypers’ Prejudice, which opened at the Festival International du Film Francophone de Namur in 2015.

This 2016, Ariane was part of Guy Maddin’s interactive project entitled Seances. This film was co-created by the National Film Board of Canada.
