In the same year, he played in the movie Kadhal Kadhai directed by Velu Prabhakaran, where Shirley Das and Velu Prabhakaran played the main leads. After Ghilli, he played again with Vijay in Sura that has Tamannaah Bhatia as the female lead. In 2011, Suruli Manohar played in Marudhavelu, directed by RKR Aathimoolam. He played the role, Sudalamuthu in the film that has newcomers as the lead stars. In 2013, Manohar featured in a comedy role in Naanum En Jamunavum with Jayant, directed by Raja Muthupandi.
Manohar was suffering from cancer and had been getting treatment. In 2014, his health condition worsened, and on 7th August 2014, he died in Chennai. He was married to Pachaimma, and they have three daughters. After four years of his death, one of his films, Samuga Valaithalam released. In 2020, one of his long-delayed films, Onbathu Kuzhi Sampath, featuring Balaji Maharaja and Nikhila Vimal, got released. The film also had Kadhal Dhandapani, who died in 2014.
