She is the daughter of famous and veteran Malayalam actor J.A.R. Anand and Sabitha Anand herself has been the leading lady of the Malayalam movies throughout the 80’s. She has acted with the leading starts of the Malayalam film Industry like Mammootty, Mohanlal, etc. and has starred in more than 100 Malayalam movies.

Meanwhile, she also acted in several hit and successful Tamil, Telugu and Kannada movies and gradually shifted her base into the Tamil Television serials playing strong supporting character roles suiting her current age mainly motherly roles. She made her acting debut with 1987 film Uppu. Sabitha Anand mostly acts in the popular family drama and saas-babhu serials in Tamil which are aired on popular and leading Tamil entertainment television channels- Sun TV and Asianet TV. Sabitha Anand was first seen in Sun TV’s landmark tele serial Kolangal which was shown in the year 2004.

She then went on to appear in the hit serials aired on Sun TV Penn(2006), Thiyagam from 2010 to 2013, and in Deviamagal from 2013-present. In Deviamagal she is essaying the character of a matriarch Saroja Devaraj-head of the Devaraj family. She subsequently also starred in Asianet TV’s hit Malayalam tele serials also.
