Thideer Kannaiah was an Indian film and stage actor born in 1936. Since childhood, he has worked in various drama troupes. He has a wife, Rajeshwari, a son Ramesh, and a daughter Chitra. Initially, he worked at the Chennai Perambur Railway Coach Factory. Later, he started acting in films. His first movie was 'Aval Oru Thodarkathai' released in 1974. He has acted in some 500 movies where comic roles were his most notable works. When he performed in drama shows, he mostly performed breakthrough scenes, and therefore fans nicknamed him "Thideer” Kannaiah. Apoora Rangangal, Karotti Kannan, Priya, Vellai Roja, Yettikki Potti, Apoorva Sagodharargal, Enna Petha Rasa, and Pokkiri are some of his famous movies. He was famous for his acting and his films. At the age of 77, died of a heart attack on 17th November 2013.
