Ramachandran Durairaj is an Indian film actor who has predominantly worked in Tamil movies. He is also known as Rams. He was born in Chennai, into a middle-class family. He started his career in the film industry in 2008 as a cinematographer. He completed his schooling at his hometown. While he was in his school, he used to be more into his studies. He was also very fond of watching movies. Ramachandran Durairaj was a part of his school’s drama team. While he was a kid, he used to go to fares and look at Nukkad-Natak. He always forced his father to buy him a ticket to these shows. He also used to take part in Debate competitions in his school. While he was in his school, he won various awards for his acting and speaking skills. He was also a sports enthusiast; he used to take part in sports and games as well.
His favorite sport was Kho - Kho. After completing his schooling, he decided to pursue further studies in Arts College. While he was in his college, he used to write short stories for local magazines. Many of the stories he wrote were published in the local magazine. In his college, he was part of the photography team. He used to love photography. After completing his college, he worked in film industry alongside his day job. During this time, Ramachandran Durairaj worked for many prominent directors such as S.R. Prabhakaran. After a while, he worked as a cinematographer in many movies under the direction of S.R Prabhakaran. He started working as an assistant director in the television series named Kolangal. This soap opera was directed by V. Thiruselvam. He also worked as an actor in this soap opera. His role was mostly cameo.
Later, he worked as an assistant cinematographer in Vijay Milton’s Vennila Kabadi Kuzhu. He got his big break, when he worked as an actor in Naan Mahan Alla. In 2014, Ramachandran Durairaj worked in two films namely Jigarthanda, directed by Subbaraj and Sathuranga Vettai, directed by H. Vinoth. In 2016, he worked as a supporting artist in the movie Thirunaal, directed by P.S. Ramnath. He also worked in two more movies the same year. He worked in Iraivi, directed by
Karthik Subbaraj, and Atti, directed by Vijayabhaskar. Later in 2017, he worked as a lead artist in the movies Theeru Naaigal, directed by S. Hari Uthraa, Aramm directed by
Gopi Nainar and Ballon, directed by Sinish. In 2018, he worked in a horror film named
Nagesh Thiraiyarangam, directed by Muhammad Issack. He is currently working in Merlin, under the direction of Keera.
