Plot
Jatin Ramdas, the CM of the state, decides to quit his party, to form a new one, aligning with Balaraj, aka Baba Bajrangi. Jatin’s sister, Priyadarshini Ramdas, strongly opposes her brother’s decision. In a turn of events, the state faces new threats. How did Stephen Nedumpally, aka Khureshi Abram, sort out the problem to bring peace? How is Khureshi connected to Balaraj? How is Balaraj connected to Zayeed Masood? What’s the role of Priyadarshini in this? All the questions are answered in the rest of the film.
Star Performance
Lalettan’s entry is absolutely a visible treat to fans. His expressions, dialogue delivery, and body language are fantastic. Lucifer showcased a dull and deceived Priyadarshini. But, we can see the rise of Priyadarshini Ramdas in Empuraan. She is stunning as ever, and her commanding performance steals the show. Prithviraj is exciting, as usual, in the minimum screen time. Tovino is good in his role as Jatin Ramdas. The rest of the stars have done what was required.
Analysis
The director has hyped up the expectations of the fans, as Lalettan’s entry didn’t happen in the first 10-15 minutes. It takes nearly an hour. However, it is worth waiting to enjoy such a spectacular entry of the Complete Actor. The action sequences are designed with style, and Lalettan is stunning. The forest action sequence is surely a visual treat. The hard work of the makers is visible. However, we can’t stop commenting on the downside, too. The running time should’ve been minimized. The first half is good, yet it should’ve been trimmed a bit. The character establishment and plot establishment swallow the first half. Yet, it is not boring. After Lalettan’s entry, the speed picks up. However, some characters should’ve been designed better, including Tovino’s Jatin Ramdas. Though the characters are elevated well, the story lacks the needed grip. The music and cinematography are excellent. The credits-design team should be appreciated for their idea of Devil’s L to Mohanlal.

Verdict
Usually, when a sequel is made, people expect it to overtake the previous franchise. But that is not possible in all cases. Even the visual grandeur of Baahubali 2, which created a great Indian record, didn’t satisfy all who loved Baahubali The Beginning. So, this is what we want to say… don’t expect much that it will make you emotionally connected like Lucifer. But it is a visual extravaganza with a wonderful rendition from Prithvi, Lalettan, and the Malayalam Lady Superstar!
