Prithviraj Sukumaran is all set for his next major venture.
After barely managing to avoid the humiliation of a flop with L2 : Empuraan, the actor cum filmmaker is working on a sports drama titled Santhosh Trophy. The actor will be seen alongside a host of new faces, and the shooting will be beginning within the next two months, if everything goes well.
Santhosh Trophy will be directed by Vipin Das, who is extremely well known for their previous project, Guruvayoor Ambalanadayil. The movie was a commercial success when it released last year.
Prithviraj Sukumaran was last seen in the political thriller L2 : Empuraan, which starred Mohanlal as the underworld don Khureshi Ab’ram aka Stephen Nedumpally. Apart from the controversy over the coverage of the 2002 riots of Gujarat, the movie didn’t impress the audience as much as the predecessor, and somehow managed to save its face through the overseas collections. Prithviraj was last seen in the direct-to-OTT movie Sarzameen, which co-starred Kajol and Ibrahim Ali Khan in prominent roles.
