Plot

The story's plot revolves around a village. A group of youngsters who were keen to learn acting and desired to act in a play in front of entire town. Bhola and his friends want to become actors. They spend most of their time in watching films in the cinema of nearby town. Bhola and his friends went to watch a movie named, Omkara in the cinema hall. This movie inspired them and they wanted to present a play in the village. However, they needed a director to direct the play. So, Bhola invites Guru Ji to direct their play. The news about this spread like fire in the entire village. However, they faced many challenges in the execution of the play. They needed a female lead but couldn’t find one. Bhola suggests Razia would be perfect for female lead’s role. But her husband Suleman refrained Razia from performing a play on stage in front of an entire village. Meanwhile, within the group many problem started arising. For instance, Bhola’s respect for Guru Ji tuned into hate and resentment.

Star performance

The main character of the story are Bhola and Guru ji. Ishtiyak Khan plays Bhola’s character, and Sanjay Mishra plays Guru ji’s role.  Ishtiyak Khan depicted Bhola perfectly as a young boy who is passionate about acting. The balance between the emotions of his character is palpable. On the other hand, Sanjay Mishra delivered a nuanced performance keeping audiences focused. His depiction of Guru Ji is top-notch. Both of them delivered fantastic performances in the film. Their presence made the storyline more intense.

Other supporting casts like Vishwanath Chatterjee, Dheerendra Dwivedi, and Vikram Kochhar have also delivered a problematic performance.

Analysis

Dvand – The Internal Conflict is a Hindi drama based on Shakespeare’s Othello. However, the pace of the film is problematic. Moreover, the movie’s script is unrealistic and boring. It is also loose at many points. The film is watchable, but there is nothing exceptional about it. The execution of the script could have been better. Some scenes seem forcefully added to the script as they made no sense.

The main cast of the movie specifically Sanjay Mishra who plays the role of Guru Ji, is fantastic. The supporting cast have also delivered problematic performances. It makes it pretty difficult to understand the message of the movie. However, the film has a fantastic cinematography. The soundtracks are also enjoyable and inspiring. It perfectly depicts various themes of the film.

Verdict

Dvand – The Internal Conflict is a watchable movie. People who get amused by acting should watch this drama as it is quite a motivational film. However, the themes of the movie have nothing exceptional.
