Plot

Love Sitara, as its name suggests, is about a love story between a man and a woman. The woman is a Malayali interior designer, and the man is a chef from Punjab. The couple, Sitara and Arjun, have been dating for a long time. Sitara is a modern, independent woman with a contemporary outlook on life. However, she has a more traditional family. Sitara and Arjun’s relationship has some problems; their family members disapprove of their relationship. One day Tara’s doctor informs her that she is pregnant and she decides to keep this fact hidden from Arjun. Three years ago Arjun had proposed to her but she rejected his marriage proposal because of her modern point of view. She wasn’t interested in the institution of marriage at that time but would rather stay in a romantic relationship with Arjun without getting married. When she finds out about her unintentional pregnancy, she makes a practical move and decides to marry Arjun. This change makes her family confused and suspicious. They wonder why she changed her mind about marriage.

Star Performance

Sobhita Dhulipala expresses her character’s charisma and strong personality through her excellent acting.

Rajeev Siddhartha also gives a compelling performance.

Analysis

The switching from one language to another during the conversation makes it very realistic and Indian, as it’s a family from South India. Even in real life, it’s common for such groups to switch from Hindi to English, to languages like Malayalam, etc. The places in Kerala chosen as settings for the film are a calming visual treat. Some of the best actors have performed for this film, and all perform their roles exceptionally. The character of the male protagonist is a bit underdeveloped.
