Ishtiyak Khan

Ishtiyak Arif Khan is an Indian movie and stage actor living in Malad West of Mumbai in Maharashtra, India. He is also a stage-play director and a music director of non-filmi albums. He became popular for his acting in movies like “Tees Mar Khan” in 2010, “The Unknown” in 2009, and “Tamasha” in 2015. Ishtiyak was born on 1976 and grew up in Patna, Madhya Pradesh.

He is a graduate from the NSD (National School of Drama). He is a holder of Prabhakar degree in music. His efficiency in the area of music and theater grew up with some great personalities like Bansi Kaul, Late B.V. Karnath, Ram Gopal Bajaj, Anuradha Kapur, Devendra Raj Ankur, Rob Clear, Late Alakhanandan, etc. He started his film career in 2009 in the movie “The Unknown.” The Same year he got a chance to perform in another movie named as “Chintu Ji.” In 2010, he acted as an English Teacher in the movie “Phas Gaye Re Obama,” and as a villager in the film “Tees Maar Khan.”

His acting in both the films was applauded by the critics. Some of his other feature films are “Issaq” in 2013, “Jai Ho! Democracy” in 2015, etc. As a theater director, the plays under his direction are Ramleela, Ek Tha Gadha Urf Aladad Khan, Shadow of Othello, Khabsurat Bahu, etc. He has also acted in some drama plays like Aadhe Adhure, Saiya Bhaye Kotwal, Madhyam Vyayog, Pata Shehar Mumbai, Maha Nirmaan, etc. Ishtiyak has performed in some non-filmi music albums such as “Hero Launda,” “Dilli Me Killi (Desi Version),” “Uthveer Soorveer,” “Ram Bhajanwa,” “Iqra Iqra,” etc. In most of the plays, he has acted under the direction of Rambhajan Zindabad.

He has written lyrics for some non-filmi songs which are popular among the public. Few of his songs are sung by the eminent singer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan in an album named as “Raula Paye Gaya”, directed by Shamir Tondon. Recently, Ishtiyak gained popularity for his acting in the movies like “Amma Ki Boli,” “Agyaat,” “JollyLLF,” “KLPD,” “Phata Poster Nikla Chuha,” “MastRam,” etc. He has also acted in Anarkali of Aarah. Along with acting, Ishtiyak is continuing the designing and direction of music in which he is busy since several years.
