Arvind Rathod is an Indian actor from Ahmedabad. He has been working for Gujarati cinema for many years. Arvind started his career as a photojournalist. He had to quit that job for some reason.
Afterwards, he began a career in acting through Gujarati cinema. His acting skills took him places. He had been nominated for Indian Telly Awards for Best Actor in Lead Role.

Arvind Rathod was born on February 14, 1941. Arvind Rathod’s place of birth is Bhavnagar district of the Saurashtra region of Gujarat, India. His father did a tailor business. From his school & college days, he was interested in acting. He took acting as his career over his father’s tailoring business. After quiting his job as a photojournalist, Arvind Rathod started his career in the film industry. He began his acting career with the Gujarati theatre play “Mota Ghami Vahu,” directed by Aruna Irani’s father F. R. Irani. Arvind Rathod’s first Gujarati film “Gujaratan” was released in 1967. Sansarleela, Kanku, and Janani Ni Jod were released in 1969, and Janamtip was released in 1973. In 1976, he acted in six movies. His role as Jetha portrayed in the Gujarati film “Bhadar Tara Vaheta Pani” established him as a villain in Gujarati cinema. Arvind Rathod essayed significant roles in Gujarati movies, including Ma-baap, Ghar Gharni Vaat, Lohi Bhini Chundadi (1986), Kanya Viday (1986), Sona Ni Jaal, Pankhino Malo, Sant Savaiyanath, Halone Madi Garbe Ramado, Manvano Mor, and Mare Todle Betho Mor.
He acted in several Gujarati plays such as Shikast, Mukhavato, Babasaheb, Mahayatra, Ghatana – 2003, Garvi Gujaratane Rang Rakhyo, 11 Kalak 23 Minit, and Ba Retiered Thay Chhe. His role as a father in Shafi Inamdar’s directorial film “Ek Sapnu Badu Shaitani” is memorable. He also acted in more than seventy plays. He was well-known for portraying negative roles in Gujarati films. He was survived by his niece-in-law Jagruti and her son Rhythm. He was unmarried. Arvind Rathod died on July 1, 2021, in Paldi, Ahmedabad due to age-related complications. He was diagnosed with Covid-19 a few months ago but later recovered from it. However, Arvind Rathod was bedridden due to age-related issues.
