This actor was born to professional photographer, Mr. Narendra Dutta and Mrs. Neelam Dutta. Mohit Dutta believes he has acting in his genes. When he was studying in first class at BSF School Paloura at Jammu, he performed on a song ‘’Yaad aa Raha Hai Tera Pyar’’ from Mithun Chakraborty’s mega-hit movie ‘Disco Dancer.’  Little did this kid know then that from being Mithun’s fan, he would land up as a lead actor in Chakraborty’s production one day! When he was studying in class XII at Mubarak Mandi Heritage School, Jammu, he told his parents that he wanted to pursue his career in Bollywood movies. He even sought help from his father to become a model. Reports suggest some friend of him from Zee Network promised to help this young lad make his fortune in Mumbai but later his friend did not keep up his word and this made Mohit lose his heart. Mohit and his father went to Mumbai to meet the friend in Zee network but could not get any help. Later on, the father and the actor returned  to Jammu and Mohit took admission in ETI College of Education in 2008. Later on, to become an actor-model, he joined Anupam Kher Institute of Film and Drama in Mumbai in the year 2009 for which he paid a fee of Rs. 1 Lakh and 60 thousand in installments. The actor played a child’s role in ‘Hide & Seek’ a movie directed by Apoorva Lakhia. The scene of the film in which Mohit played a child actor, received a lot of praise. It was in the year 2011 in a Hindi romance film ‘Always Kabhi Kabhi,’ Mohit had a small role to play. The film was directed by Roshan Abbas and produced by Shahrukh Khan under Red Chillies Entertainment. Even Shah Rukh Khan appeared as a guest star in the movie. But this movie did not give him much recognition. It was one of the toughest periods for this actor to stay in Mumbai getting such small roles in movies. But his parents supported his living in Mumbai by providing sufficient financial support. Later on, ‘Ishqedarriyaan’ came his way. He has acted in a short film 'The Conversations: A Journey to Path to Origin' which had actors like Araya Sharma and Mohit Dutta in lead roles. The film is directed by Rajkumar Yadav and written by Simmer Bhatia.
