At least by the looks of the collections of ‘The Sabarmati Report’, it seems so. Based on the 2002 Godhra arson, which led to the unfortunate riots in Gujarat, the movie is slowly but steadily making its mark at the box office.

The movie has already earned tax free status in four states, viz Chattisgarh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Uttar Pradesh. The net collections of the movie are approximately 12 crores, while the gross domestic collections amount up to 15 crores. Though that’s not an impressive start, it should be kept in mind that Vikrant Massey’s previous movie ‘12^th Fail’ was a late bloomer as well, having earned just 12 crores in its opening week.
