Aishwarya Rai was born on 1st November 1973 in Mangalore, Karnataka. After winning the Miss World crown in 1994, she debuted in Mani Ratnam’s directorial venture, Iruvar, featuring Mohanlal and Prakash Raj in the lead roles. Aishwarya Rai’s debut with dual roles opposite the Mollywood Super actor brought her accolades. Aish has won the Filmfare Award for Best Actress twice – once for Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam and Devdas. Both the films were directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. In 2022 and 2023, she was seen in Ponniyin Selvan I and II, directed by her mentor, Mani Ratnam. The fiction mixed with historical drama written by the famous novelist Kalki had her as Nandini. She fit well in the role and received appreciation nationwide.
