Sharat Katariya is an Indian Director and screenwriter. He was born on the 15th of June in the year 1978. He works mainly in Hindi cinema. He started his journey in the industry as an Assistant Director. He helped in the making of the film ‘Raghu Romeo’ which was directed by Rajat Kapoor. He also worked as the lyricist of that film. He has scripted dialogues for movies like ‘Sunglass’ and ‘Bheja Fry’. Sharat was also a part of the popular franchise of Vishesh Films. It was directed by Kanu Behl and produced under Aditya Chopra’s banner Yash Raj Films. The film has Amit Sial, Ranvir Shorey, Lalit Behl in the lead roles. It won multiple awards in New York, Turkey, and Spain. Sharat wrote dialogues for Bollywood Superstar, Shahrukh Khan’s movie ‘Fan’. The film didn’t do as well as predicted at the box office, but the dialogues, and Shahrukh’s acting was appreciated by all. It was also produced under the banner of the popular Yash Raj Films. The story is about an obsessed fan who is a look a like of the star. The obsession turns dangerous and he tries to harm the star’s life. Sharat received a lot of fame and attention with his flick – Dum Laga Ke Haisha. He directed this romantic comedy which cast Ayushmann Khurana and actress Bhumi Pednekar in the main roles. The flick released on the 27th of February in 2015. It grossed about INR 30 crores at the box office and won a lot of awards. The story was a love story of an illiterate man and an overweight girl.
