Ratheesh Vega’s birth name was Ratheesh Menon. He was born in Palakkad, Kerala, India. He was bought up in Chennai, Tamilnadu. He has got a degree in music from Madras University. He pursued a short course in sound engineering. He continued learning music from Thrissur R. Vaidyanathan. Presently he lives in Thrissur with his wife Dr. Anu Vega and son Nathan Vega. His breakthrough into music direction was through the television program “Music Talks” telecasted on the channel Asianet TV.Gopi Sunder was the one who asked him to try his luck in the music field as music Director. One of his friends was so impressed by his singing that he introduced him to a producer Milan Jaleel. Who later offered him a chance, as he was impressed by his musical compositions in the musical album. Ratheesh Vega is a composer, singer, and musician in the Malayalam Films.

He entered the film industry in the year 2010 with a debut hit film” Cocktail” by Arun Kumar. The hit song of this cinema, “neeyam thanalinu tahzhe” was handled by Vijay Yesudas and Thulasi Yatheendran. Producer Milan Jaleel who was impressed by his work later called him again for his movie “Kasargod Khader Bhai.” Later he got a chance for a film written by Anoop Menon. He composed four songs for this movie. Two songs in this movie got him a couple of awards as well. He was lucky to get another chance where the famous artist Kavya Madhavan has sung for his composition in the movie “Matinee.”

He has done jingles for numerous brands. Some of them are Kalyan silks, Josco, MCR and Joy Alukkas. He is a part of a music brand named “Lalisom” formed in 2014 as a musician. They had offered an event amount to the government of Kerala for which Cricketer Sachin Tendulkar had attended, but the government rejected the fund telling that it was quite regrettable. The award for best music director for Orissa-Kerala film critics’ association awards 2013 was awarded to him. There was few others award that he bagged the song award by CERA BIG Malayalam Music Award, 97.2 BIG FM 2013 for “Autumnal payal” Run Babby Run. Best Music Director Award from the Kochi Times Film award in the year 2011 for the movie “Beautiful.

M. K. Arjunan

M.K.Arjunan is a well-known Malayalam music composer. He is basically from Kerala, India. He was born in the year 1950. His father Kochukunju passed away when M.K.Arjunan was young. So his mother Parvathi was not able to look after the big family and had to send him and his brother to Jeevakarunyananda Ashram at Palani. M.K.Arjunan started his music career in this ashram. During the youth, composing music was another turn in his life. Noticing the talent of his in music the head of the ashram decided to give him music classes himself. Kumarayya Pillai was his first music teacher and continued teaching him for a long time. His passion towards music also grew up as he grew up. M.K.Arjunan was famous for top names like Changanassery Geetha, people’s theater, Kalidasa Kalakendram, desabhinmani theaters, Alleppey theaters and KPAC. The movie ‘Manathi Muttathu’ in the year 1968 was his debut film as a music director which had P.Bhaskaran as the lyricist and was sung by Yesudas. After that, he got another chance in the movie named “Rest House” directed by Sasikumar, with Sreekumaran Thampi as the lyricist. His famous “Padatha veenayum padum” became an evergreen song. After some time, it was a battle between Vayalar-Devarajan and Sreekumaran Thampi-Arjunan teams. They fought for the honor. The winner was the Malayalam music. That era was known as the good music of Malayalam music field. He has also composed for movie “Ninmaniyarayile” and “Neelanishidhini” which are the best songs in the film “C.I.D. Nazir” by P.Venu. He made different types of songs like mysterious ‘velichamevide,’ lullaby ‘pookale pole’ romantic ‘sarovaram poochoodi,’ semi-classical ‘ayiram ajantha,’ the pleasant ‘nilavilakkin,’ auspicious ‘thiruvonappulariyil,’ playful ‘kannezhuthipottuthottu’ etc. His songs continued his presence from 1980 onwards. He still had his charm as in 1986 he composed ‘chandrakikiranathi’ and ‘chellacheru veedutharam.’ In 1988 ‘kananazhakulla manikyakuyile’ in ‘Oozham’ was his last well-received song. Melody was the base of all his songs. There were no complaints about his composition. He was the master in composing sad songs, but still, it was purely entertaining. He composed songs for all the singers, but Yesudas sang most of his songs. 70-75 was his time. Though his style was pure traditional, he opened the door of changes for others in the music world. He had 50 years career span in the film industry, he has composed more than 500 songs in Malayalam films. A chance was given to A. R. Rahman by him to play keyboards in a film which was him musical break.

Composer - Raveendran

Raveendran was born in Kollam, Kerala on 9 November 1941 as Kulathupuzha Ravi. He is associated with the Malayalam and Tamil Music industry. He began his career in music as a singer. He worked as a playback singer and then as a music composer. His first song was ‘Parvanarajanithan’ in the Malayalam movie ‘Velliyazhcha’ in 1969. He married Shobha and has three sons. Ravi met a sad demise at the age of 63 after suffering from cancer. M. Raveendran is a famous singer and music composer of South Indian film industry. He has contributed greatly to the Carnatic music, Hindustani Classical, and world music. He was first praised for his music composition in the movie ‘Chola’ in 1979. He was thoroughly involved in music beyond these periods. After the tremendous success of his album ‘Thenum Vayambum’ in 1981, he became a legend. He has also worked as a dubbing actor and music director. Ravi was known for his unique style of singing and composition. He has created a benchmark in the Malayalam industry with his contributions. Some of his notable songs are ‘Harimuraleeravam', ‘Pramadhavanam', ‘Ramakadha’, ‘Alila Manjalil’, ‘Chirio Chiri’, ‘Tharattu’, ‘Surya Gayathri’, ‘Mazha’, ‘Kuttettan’, ‘Bharatham’, ‘Kanmadam’, ‘Azhake’, ‘Raagangale’, ’Ganga’, ‘Thallam Thettiya’, ‘Manja Kelliyude’, ‘Etho Nidrathan’, ‘Kalabham Tharaam’, ‘Deepam deepam’, ‘Moovanthi thazhvarayii’, ‘Hridayam oru veenayai,’ ‘Aalila manjali,’ ‘Devsandhya Gopurathil.’ These songs have a distinct melodious tune. Some of his famous albums which were hummed all over were ‘Vasantha Geethangal’, ‘Raja Shilpi’ and ‘Uthradapoonilave’. ‘Ponnona Tharingini’, ‘Uthradapoonilave,’ ‘Amme Saranam Devi Saranam’ and ‘Sarana Theertham’ were the popular non-cinematic albums of the 1990s. He has given us some non-stop hits of the time. His great contribution makes it evident that he had made a dominant mark in the industry. He was known as the musical maestro in his field of work. Ravi has a lot of awards at his merit. He was honored with National Film Award in 1992 for ‘Bharatham.’ He was awarded Kerala State film Awards twice for best music director. His Malayalam composition ‘His Highness Abdullah’ and ‘Mazhayethum Munpe’ has also received Film fare award. He has one Asianet Award and Two Kerala State Film Awards to his credit. He was honored posthumously in 2006 for ‘Vadakkumnadhan’ as the best music director. Ravi, as he is fondly called, has left a majestic legacy of music for generations to emulate. He is a legend that the Malayalam industry has witnessed. He will be remembered forever for his unparalleled compositions in music.
