K Shivaram

K Shivaramu Kempaiah, is an Indian actor, politician, and director in the Kannada film industry. He was born on December 15th, 1953 in Uragalli, Ramanagara district. S.Kempaiah and Chikkaboramma are his parents. He did his high school studies at Malleshwaram government school, Bangalore. He also completed his typing and shorthand courses both in English and Kannada and bagged a government job in 1972. He then joined the CID (crime investigation department) as a police reporter. During his service, he continued his education and pursued a bachelor in arts from V.V Puram evening college of Arts and Commerce. He also received a Master's in arts from an open university of Mysore in 1982 via correspondence.

He also cleared the K.A.S exam and got elected as the deputy superintendent of police in 1985. In 1986 he got selected as the assistant commissioner of police. He also cleared the I.A.S exam in the Kannada language while his training at the Karnataka police academy. He is married to Vani Shivram. He had done many roles in movies and also worked as a director and writer. Some of his famous films are baa nalle madhuchandrake(1993), vasantha kavya(1996), sangliyana part-3(1997), prathibhatane(1999), khalanayaka(1999), yarige beda duddu(2001), game for love(2003), naaga(2006), o prema devathe(2007) and tiger(2017). His political career began in 2013 when he joined the Indian national congress. He was also a Janata Dal member. In 2014 he left the Indian national congress and joined the Bharatiya Janata Party on 14th October.

Shivaram had been suffering from multiple health issues. He had been getting treatment for the same. On 29th February 2024, he died at the private hospital where he was getting treatment. He was 70 and is survived by his wife and a daughter.
