Gautham Iyer

Gautham Iyer, born on 10th November, is an Indian movie director and writer working in the Sandalwood industry. He is best known for directing the 2018 movie Vrithra. Gautham graduated with a B.Com degree in 2016 from Presidency College, Bengaluru. He was the best student in the management club and interned with Nokia in 2014. Gautham was also the Campus Manager for Dell in 2013. He is a member of the Filmmakers United Club. He was the judge of several shows at numerous Bangalore-based colleges from 2015 to 2016. Gautham worked with his father for one year in the printing industry.

Gautham decided to pursue a filmmaking career over continuing with a business. He studied filmmaking at the Chennai-based Blue Ocean Film and Television Academy. Gautham was associated with the movie Charlie and worked under the guidance of Sandalwood director Kiranraj. His debut directorial movie is the 2018 crime-based Kannada movie Vrithra starring Nithyashri. The film received overall positive reviews. Along with Vrithra, he has directed four short films. Gautham is associated with Paramvah Studios as an Associate Director.
