Doddanna is an Indian actor in the Kannada film industry. He is best known for playing comic roles in Kannada films. During his career of more than four decades, he worked in more than 500 films to his credit. After playing comedy characters successfully, he switched on to playing character roles too in Kannada movies.
He started his career as a theater actor; he got his first break in theater and then progressed slowly into cinema, where he left his impression like a superstar. No Kannada film would be complete with Doddanna doing a cameo or any other character in 80’s and 90’s. He was born on November 15, 1949. Before making a debut in acting or going to the theater, he was working at Baddhravati Steel Factory. He left his job to persuade a career in acting.
He started a theater group called Gandharva Ranga in Karnataka. He also appeared in many Tamil films too. He is equally known for playing villain, comedy roles, a tough policeman and many other character roles. But for his characters in comedy sequence, he will be remembered forever by Kannada film viewers for ever. He is the most versatile actor in Kannada cinema, who can easily fit into any character. He is equally popular like a super star in Kannada cinema. He has completed 65 years. He has played many supporting actor roles in many leading movies too.
