In tragic news for Kannada film fans, K Shivaram has passed away. He was hospitalized after a massive heart attack, for which he was being treated in a local hospital in Bengaluru. He was 70 years old.
K Shivaram was a distinguished IAS officer, as well as a successful actor before he joined politics. Born in April 1953, K Shivaram was merely 19 years old, when he landed himself a government job. He worked for the CID wing of Karnataka Police. He entered the state police, but had higher aims, and soon cracked the UPSC exams, becoming one of the rare candidates to crack the exam in the vernacular medium, i.e. Kannada language.
Following a successful career as an IAS Officer, K Shivaram tried his luck in acting. He entered the film industry in 1993 with a role in ‘Baa Nalle Madhuchandrake’. He subsequently acted in a few more films, before turning to politics in 2013. However, he didn’t like the ways of the party, and after oscillating between JDS and Congress, K Shivaram was ultimately accepted by the BJP in 2017.
