Massimo Carlotto is a famous English writer and novelist who belongs to Italy. He was born on 22 July 1956 in Padua, Italy, and started his literary career in 1995. His first written novel was a fictionalized autobiography, The Fugitive, which has later released as a comedy-drama film in 2003 titled The Fugitive and directed by Andrea Manni. The book was released in Italian, as he has worked mainly in the Italian literature world. In 1998, Massimo published an autobiographical novel of inquiry, Le irregolari, based on Argentina's civil war, also known as the dirty war. In 2001, he published Arrivederci, amore ciao, that has been released as a movie in 2005 titled The Goodbye Kiss. The film has directed by Michele Soavi and was a hit in the cinema.
Massimo Carlotto is generally a writer of the genres like crime, fiction, noir, thriller, and hard-boiled. He also worked in a radio drama with Carlo Lucarelli titled Radio Bellablu (Rai Radio Tree). His books and novels have been translated into France, Bulgaria, Germany, Spain, United Nations, the United Kingdom, Greece, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic, etc. In 2004, Massimo published L'oscura immensità della morte (Death's Dark Abyss), based on a revenge theme. The story has later used as a plot for a hit Bollywood film Badlapur. It has directed by Sriram Raghavan, starring Varun Dhawan and Yami Gautam. Massimo Carlotto has written around 25 novels in Italy, 20 short stories, several essays, graphic novels, and literature for young people.

In 1996, he got Premio del Giovedi, in 1999, Premio Dessi, Premio Scerbanenco in 1999 and 2002, Premio Ciliegia d'oro in 2003, Premio del Libraio – Città di Padova in 2007, and Premio Letterario Noir Ecologista Jean Claude Izzo in 2009. He was the finalist of the Edgar Allan Poe Awards for Arrivederci amore ciao (The Good Bye Kiss) and got second place in the Grand Prix de Litterature policiere in 2003.
