Mayur Katariya is an Australian writer, director, and producer. He was born in Surat, Gujarat, on 24th March. Mayur lives in Melbourne, Australia. He had done graduation in from SVNIT, India, and then he went to Australia to do a master’s in IIT from Swinburne University, Australia. Mayur did a Master in Counselling from Monash University, Australia. After completing his master’s degree, Mayur works at Monash University, Australia as a Business administration manager. Mayur had worked on the television short “Birds,” released in 2014, as an Editor and cinematographer. It was directed and produced by Troy Wheeler. In 2015, he started his career in the movies with the short English film “Forgetfulness” as a writer and director.
In 2016, Mayur produced two short films, “One True Love” and “Speaking Test.” Mayur’s film “Ek Aasha,” released in September 2018, was his best film ever. It was based on the quest of a transgender girl, Aashish, to become a teacher in India and his struggle with his gender since childhood. Mayur was the writer, director, and producer of the film. The film won the 8th Noida International Film Fest 2021 for the Best Film. Mayur was also rewarded with the Best Director award for this movie.
