Mark Burton is a well-known screenwriter and musician best known for his contributions to the British television industry. He is one of the most sought after screenwriters in the television industry. He is the man behind many of television's comedy series and radio shows in the United Kingdom. He was born on the 30th of September in the year 1960 in the United States of America. After completing his high school education, Burton moved to the University of York in Heslington in the United Kingdom from where he graduated. After graduating from college, Mark joined BBC Radio and worked in the Light Entertainment Department of the radio station.Â
While working with the BBC Radio for some time, Mark was paired with John O’Farell, another well-known scriptwriter, mainly for comedy shows. The duo was given the job of script writing for, ‘Week Ending’, one of the most listened to satirical shows in BBC Radio Four, mainly discussing British current affairs. For their exemplary work in contributing to the radio industry, Burton and O’Farell won the BBC’s Light Entertainment Contract Award and later went on to be main script writers behind one of the most famous radio shows.Â
Burton wrote and also performed in one of the most famous shows, ‘A Look Back At The Nineties’ and also ‘A Look Back At The Future’ which was aired in BBC Radio Four in the year 1993. The show won multiple awards including the prestigious Radio Academy Awards in the Gold Level.
