Clemence Guichard is the birth name of Clemence Poesy. Poesy is the maiden name of Clemence’s mother which she adopted as her stage name. She is a French actress and fashion model. She was born on 30th October 1982, in L'Haÿ-les-Roses, Paris. Her father is the actor-writer Etienne Guichard and her mother is a French teacher. She went to a bilingual, alternative school named La Source, in Meudon, where the curriculum and methods of education are non-traditional. Her father, Etienne gave Poesy her first acting job when she was a child. She has a younger sister, Maelle Poesy-Guichard. Poesy studied drama at the Conservatoire National Superieure d'Art Dramatique, the French National Academy of Dramatic Arts and the Atelier International de Blanche Salant et Paul Weaver, and Paris Nanterre University.
Poesy's first English-speaking role was in Gunpowder, Treason & Plot (2004), the BBC mini-series, in which she portrayed Mary, Queen of Scots. She won the 2005 Golden FIPA for actress in a TV Series and Serial. In 2005, Poesy played the role of Fleur Delacour in The Goblet of Fire, in the Harry Potter franchise. Clemence is fluent in French and English, and can speak some Italian and Spanish. In 2006 and 2007, she worked in Le Grand Meaulnes, Sans Moi, Le Dernier Gang and War and Peace. Since October 2007, Poesy has been one of three spokesmodels for the self-titled fragrance by Chloe. In 2008, she has modelled in Gap's autumn advertising campaign.
