Kyrie Irving

Kyrie Andrew Irving was born on March 23rd, 1992. His birthplace in Melbourne, Australia. His parents are American, Frederick and Elizabeth Irving, and his stepmother is Shetellia Irving He is an American basketball player (professional). He plays for Boston Celtics of the NBA (National Basketball Association). He was named as the “NBA Rookie of the Year” after getting selected by the Cleveland Cavaliers. He is a five-time NBA All-Star. He has won an NBA championship in 2016 with the Cavaliers. Irving was bought up in West Orange, New Jersey.

He was motivated to play in the NBA after playing at Continental Airlines Arena on a school trip when he was in fourth grade. He has presented a scholarship to Boston University when he was in fifth grade by then-head coach Dennis Wolff. Irving played for the Road Runners (Amateur Athletic Union (AAU)) during his teen years. Irving played in college basketball team for the Duke Blue Devils prior joining the Cavaliers in 2011. He played for the United States national team, and they were the winners of the 2014 FIBA Basketball World Cup and in the 2016 Summer Olympics.

In 2012, Irving portrayed the part of Uncle Drew in the series of Pepsi Max advertisements. He has also starred in a feature film called Uncle Drew that was released in June 2018. The film also features former NBA players. Irving enjoys reading and has a journal, likes to sing, play the baritone sax and dance. Irving also likes to spend time with his daughter, Azurie Elizabeth Irving. Irving sparked controversy in February 2017 when he stated that the Earth is flat, contradicting to what majority of people believe and what science claims.

Irving eventually said that the comments were an "exploitation tactic" to demonstrate how the media attempted to demean people who challenged the status and said he wants people to not accept everything blindly. He has contributed to The Shared Grief Project. It is an organization that highlights the stories of athletes who have endured the loss of their loved ones, at a young age, but went on to be successful.

He is a very versatile and renowned player. He is well appreciated and applauded by the audience. Be it playing basketball or acting in movies, he gave his best in both the fields and his efforts are acknowledged. He enjoys an enormous fan following on social media and in reality as well.
