At the 2013 Grammy Awards, Tremaine Aldon Neverson (also known as Trey Songz) was nominated for the best male vocal performance R & B. This sounds quite interesting, right! But prior to this, he made his debut as a pop singer in 2003 and had signed a deal with a recording company which offered him a lump sum amount of $100,000 advance.

As per the contract, he released his first musical album ‘ I Gotta Make It’ and climbed 20th position in Billboard chart,  the album sold minimum copies of records (395,000). Later on, he released his second studio album ‘Trey Day’ in 2007 and this album debuted at number 11 on the US Billboard 200 chart. It was released on August 31, 2009, and it debuted at number 3 on the US Billboard 200, selling 131,000 copies in the first week. ‘Ready’ song was nominated for Grammy Awards. In the year 2009, the singer got associated with an American record producer Bryan-Michael Cox and began to work on his third studio album and thus the wonderful music and song of ‘Ready’ made to the chartbuster.

His next musical album "I Need a Girl" released in 2009 received a mixed response and retained the 51 position on Billboard Hot 100 numbers. In 2009, "Successful" was another music video which featured Canadian rapper and singer Drake and Trey Songz along with Drake's mentor Lil Wayne too. Two years after the release, the track was certified Gold for sales of exceeding 5,00,000 copies and the songs occupied the chart amongst twenty best songs of 2009. In the year 2010, his album 'Neighbors Know My Name" was released and it was Trey Songz's third consecutive top five R&B hit. This singer-cum-songwriter was born November 28, 1984.
