Patrick Stump is an American singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, composer and famously known as lead vocalist for the and ‘Fall Out Boy.' He is a son of a folk singer. He originally started as the drummer for a few local Chicago bands. Later went on to join Fallout Boy. Till then he had never sung nor had singing lessons. When a member of the band left, Patrick was forced to take over the vocals as well as learn to play guitar. But he did the work with great flair and confidence; he found great success with the band when he became in charge of the music. In an article of MTV News published in January 2010, Patrick announced he was working on a solo album for which he had been working very hard. He had self-written, performed and produced the song of that album. Later he leaked the title of the album generating great interest in the minds of people. The album was released in October 2011. He has been active on his website, on which he also has posted a video showing him playing various instruments including drum kit, synthesizer, cowbell, electric, bass guitar amongst others. Later in may 2011, He was the opening act for Bruno Mars and Janelle Monae on their "Hooligans In Wondaland Tour" for four shows. He has also performed at Fuji Rock Festival in Japan. He has also toured the States and on his second tour to the States he headlined the Metro in Chicago. He has also been a guest to many radio shows.
He has even been a guest to many TV shows including; Good morning new Orleans, The Tonight show with Jay Leno, Hoppus on Music amongst others. In 2012, in the month of February, he took a temporary retirement saying he would stop performing. He also added that it was due to the relentless criticism that he received from his album Soul Punk and FOB’s ‘Folie a Deux. he said that though he was ready for the criticism but wasn’t prepared for people who would eventually hate him and attack his ambition and slim down his image. And Before You Exit. In 2012, Patrick was elected a member of the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences' Chicago Chapter Governors. On November 30, 2014, when he was asked on twitter if another solo album would be made, he responded, "There's hope, but it will be a minute.”
