Linda Jones was born on 14th December 1944, in Newark, New Jersey, United States. She was an American soul singer by profession. Jones began her career at the age of six, by becoming a part of her family’s gospel group named jones singers. Her first recording was Lonely Teardrops under Linda Lane.
Jones was found by Jerry Harris, a songwriter while performing at a local club, who introduced her to a well-known producer, named George Kerr. After all her unsuccessful singles on Atco Records in the year 1964 and Blue Cat Records as well in the following year, Kerr then took her to Warner Bros. Records' R&B subsidiary, Loma Records in 1967. There when she became to develop herself. Jones died on 14th March 1972.
