Brittany Murphy

Brittany Murphy was not only an American singer but also a voice artist and a stage performer. She was born on 10th Nov 1977, in Atlanta. Her parents divorced when she was 2. She was raised by her mother in New Jersey. She along with her family moved to Los Angeles in 1991, so that she could pursue a career in acting. In 1982, she went to attend Verne Fowler school of Dance and Theatre Arts in Colonia, New Jersey. She was trained in singing, dancing and acting from the age of 4. In early 1990’s she was a member of the band Blessed Soul.  At the age of 13, Murphy played Brenda Drexell in the series Drexell’s classes, which is an American sitcom. In 1997, she appeared in a play named A View from the Bridge. In 1993, she appeared in another American sitcom, The Torkelsons that was renamed Almost Home. She made a guest appearance in some of the T.V. series which includes Parker Lewis Can't Lose, Blossom, seaQuest 2032, Murder One and Frasier. 

In 1995, Murphy appeared in a feature film Clueless, which is a  teen comedy. She appeared in 1996 crime movie named Freeway. She played a supporting role in 1999 American drama film named Girl, interrupted. She worked as a voice artist for the characters Joseph Gribble and Luanne Platter, of King of the Hill that is an animated sitcom. Brittany was also nominated for Annie award for an episode of the series. 

In 2001, Brittany played a lead role in the psychological thriller Don’t Say a Word. She was seen in the lead role in teen comedy film Uptown Girls, in 2003. In 2005, she was signed as a spokesmodel for Jordache Jeans.  In June 2006 she released the single Faster Kill Pussycat. In May 2007, Murphy married screenwriter Simon Monjack, in Los Angeles. On 20th December 2009 she collapsed in a bathroom, at her house in Los Angeles and eventually died. Murphy had her burial at Forest Lawn Memorial Park on 24th Dec 2009.

She was well trained in music, acting and dancing as a child in New Jersey. She initially started with her Broadway career performing in A View from the Bridge, Arthur Miller story in 1997. Her Hollywood journey began with Drexell’s Class. She had appeared as a guest actor in a number of series like Almost Home, Frasier, Party of Five, Pepper Ann and many more.
