Melinda Dahl

Melinda Dahl is a Canadian and American actress, photographer, and musician, who is primarily recognized for her role as Annette in the television series Loudermilk. The beautiful actress is also known for shows like The Romanoffs, Virgin River, and Silver Lake, and movies like Silver Lake, Grown Up, Dr. Awkward, Cold Case, et al.

Melinda Dahl was born to parents David Dahl and Sara Dahl on November 9, 1984, in Toronto, Canada. Dahl, who had a Scot father and an American mother, has a twin sister Caitlin and an older sister Lauren. The actress was born in a family of artists and grew up in Toronto itself.

The actress was inclined towards photography at an early age and became a professional photographer when she was only sixteen. In the beginning, she snapped musicians and actors, which transformed into her love for capturing arts for the coming years. The fine art photographer joined the Cardinal Carter Academy for the Arts to develop her acting skills. At the same time, she pursued photography at Ryerson University and the Ontario College of Art and Design.

Her passion for acting and fine arts brought Melinda to Los Angeles, where she still lives. Dahl initially appeared on television shows like Queer as Folk, Exhibit A: Secrets of Forensic Science, and The Associates. She also made appearances in television movies A Mother’s Fight For Justice, where she appeared with the Civil Wars actor Alan Rosenberg and Whitewash: The Clarence Brandley Story. Melinda featured in the popular Netflix show Virgin River in its Season 2. She was featured in the series Casual, nominated for Golden Globe, as a student.

Melinda prides the most on the short films The Get-Together and Grown-Ups, which she worked on with her twin sister Caitlin. Caitlin both scripted and helmed the movies and she and Melinda own a band ‘The Dahls’. The Dahls produced the album Midnight Picnic, which was released in 2009, and Wake Up West, which was released in 2013. The band also gave music for the 2014 flick Dumb and Dumber To for Periwinkle Sky.

Melinda bagged the 2017 Best Actors Film Festival Award for Best Supporting Actor and the 2017 Best Shorts Competition Awards for Supporting Actress.
