Ian Hunter Patterson was born in Shropshire, England on 3rd June 1939. He is a singer by profession and is also a songwriter. He worked with many famous celebrities and is also a member of “Mott the Hoople”, the band. He plays as the lead singer of the band. He became interested in singing from a very young age and used to write lyrics for his composer as well. In 1969, Ian joined the band and played with other guys; he continued performing with them in various parts of the country. In 1974, the band dissolved and he continued performing as a solo artist. Before joining “Mott the Hoople”, Ian met Colin York and Colin Broom; they continued their collaboration and entered a competition as a group. The trio became the winners of the tournament, and they asked him to come to Northampton and join their crew, “The Apex Group.”

He soon left for Northampton looking for more and prospering future. He joined them as rhythm guitarist, and the people loved him and used to visit them just to see him playing. He left the band in 1958 because he did not make enough money out of it and urged to earn money for a better lifestyle. He met Diana Coles and later fell for her and ended up marrying her. He became financially weak and after their first child, he found it hard to manage the resources. Diana continued to organize his house, and Ian tried to earn money for them. While he remained in their group, Hunter formed another band and came into competition with them. They learned about them, and he was forced to leave the band because he betrayed them. Years later, Hunter joined hands with Mick Ronson and started to work with him.

His first single, “Once Bitten Twice Shy” which reached on the Top 40 charts. He ended up having issues with Ronson’s manager and had to break the terms with him. He continued his career and prepared some solo albums his second “All American Alien Boy”, the album gathered cracking response from people and every song was soulful and touched millions of hearts. His other works include You’re Never Alone with a Schizophrenic, Overnight Angels, Welcome to the Club, All of the good ones is taken, The Artful Dodger, Dirty laundry, Shrunken Heads, etc. all proved to be a major hit. Ian won various awards and nominations and is an inspiring artist in his field.
