Howie Dorough

Howie Dorough is an American songwriter, singer, dancer, and actor. He is one of the members of Backstreet Boys, a famous American boy band. 0Howie was born on 22 August 1973 in Orlando, Florida, USA. His father is Hoke Dwaine Dorough, an Irish-English ancestor, and his mother is Paula Flores, a Puerto Rican. He has four siblings while he is the youngest out of the five children. He has a brother older than him, John Dorough. His three sisters are Pollyanna, Angela “Angie,” and third is Caroline. Pollyanna is also a singer. In 1998, Caroline died due to lupus. Howie formed a foundation to raise awareness about lupus. It also gave financial support to those who cannot afford the treatment cost. It is called Dorough Lupus Foundation.

Howie started singing at a very young age. He performed in The Wizard of Oz musical as an actor and singer. His mother enrolled him in performing arts academy, and Howie started taking acting, dancing, and singing lessons. He has taken jazz, classical ballet, and tap dance lessons. He has performed in talent shows and choir. He also performed in Macho & Camacho, a school TV production show. He went to Edgewater High School. He then graduated from Valencia College. Howie has performed in Nickelodeon TV production and also appeared in Walt Disney World commercial. At that time, his stage name was Tony Donetti.

He worked as a Universal Orlando tour guide. He married his girlfriend of a long time, Leigh Bonielle. They married in Orlando on 8 December 2007. They have two children, James Hoke Dorough and Holden John Dorough. His father died in 2008 due to lung cancer. Howie’s birth name is Howard Dwaine Dorough. His other names are Latin Lover, Howie D. Sweet D.

In 1993, Dorough started Backstreet Boys with Brian Littrell, AJ McLean, Kevin Richardson, and Nick Carter Nickolas Gene Carter took birth on January 28, 198 >> Read More... . They started performing at different venues like schools, shopping malls, etc. in 1994, Jive Records booked them, and they started to become popular gradually. They went on a tour following the release of their debut album. The album went up on charts selling 8 million copies. They released their second album in Europe, Backstreet’s Back along with releasing the first and second album as a compilation in the United States. In no time, it went up on the charts and was ranked 4th highest album on Billboard 200. The album sold almost 14 million copies.

In 1999, Millennium was released which eventually became the best-selling album. They went on a hiatus after releasing the Greatest Hits. They came back in 2003 and released Never Gone in the year 2005. In 2007, they released Unbreakable, and This Is Us in 2009, and in 2013 they released their eighth album called In a World Like This. Howie D. has also done solo projects. He has his company called 3 Street Management under which he manages Neverest, a Canadian band. He released a solo album called Back To Me in 2011.

He has done acting in TV series like Sabrina, Roswell, The Teenage Witch, etc. he also appeared in the movie This is the End with Backstreet Boys. He also has a realm estate development company with his brother John, called Sweet D. Inc.
