Born in Manchester in the family of Irish people, John Martin Maher popularly called Johnny Marr is an English songwriter, singer, and a famous musician. For five years, he has been a guitarist and wrote lyrics of the songs for The Smiths in Manchester. His genres are alternative rock, indie rock, and indie pop. He studied at the St Augustine's Catholic Grammar School from the year 1975. Since childhood, he aspired to become a football player. But destiny had its game to play.

When he was just thirteen, he formed The Paris Valentinos which was his first band, with Kevin Williams who became an actor later and Andy Rourke. In the year 1979, he performed a gig with the musical band named Sister Ray and collaborated with Rourke again in The White Dice. He did not leave his education, so he joined the Wythenshawe College where he became the Leader of The Student Union. He did many touring events with The Smiths and in the year 1985, he completed his tours of USA and UK recording the next record, The Queen is Dead.

It was the greatest album ever made as rated by the Spin Magazine in the year 1989. In the year 1992, a cover version of Ennio Morricone's(Italian composer and musician) Italian epic named ’The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly’ was released and recorded by Marr. He has done the job of a musician for the music albums of various artists like Pet Shop Boys which is a duo of Electronic Pop genre, Billy Bragg, Bryan Ferry, Black Grape, etc.

In the year 2000, Marr formed his band The Healers and for this, he appointed a drummer, a guitarist, etc. The band produced super hit albums whose lyrics were written by Marr, and he handled the lead vocals as well. From 2001 to 2009, he performed songs with a group 7 World’s Collide, which consisted of talented members from Split Enz, Pearl Jam, and Radio Head. The album “The Sun Came Out” grabbed everyone’s heart.

It came out in the market in the month of August in the year 2009 to collect money for The International Confederation named Oxfam. In the year 2008, he joined the Wakefield Indie Group named The Cribs. The group won various awards and Johnny Marr became the Youth Icon. Coming to his personal life, he married his love Angie with whom he has two children Sonny and Nile Marr. His love for football is visible when he attends Manchester City Football tournaments with his family.
