Howard Lawrence

Howard Lawrence is a musician and one-half of the Electronic Dance Music Duo Disclosure. He was born in Reigate, Surrey, England. Both his parents belong to the musical background. His father used to play in rock bands like “No Angry Man” and “The Look Book” along with his brother while his mother was a session musician. She used to tour on cruises, front bands, advertising jingles. She was one of the first musicians to entertain the British Army at the time of their recapture of Falklands Islands. He was born >> Read More... developed an interest in music from an early age of three. He started with listening to hip-hop and dubstep, but later he grew a taste for house music and learned it. He also introduced Howard to House music. By 15, Howard was listening to funk, maudlin and soul singers.

He got influenced by artists like Joy Orbison, James Blake, and Burial. In the years 2010-2011, he along with his brother began to de-construct the tunes that Guy used to listen. He started making music in the room above his father’s auction house with Guy. He referred to the music style as “Electronic House Music with a Pop structure. He started uploading their work on MySpace, and this landed him a record deal, and a Live UK Tour. They performed a set before Todd Edwards after which they received encouragement. He released his first single with his brother called “Offline Dexterity” on 29th August 2010. He went on to sign a deal with PMR Label and afterward released his second single “Carnival “/” I Love...That You Know” on 13th June 2011.

He received fame after the release of the single “Tenderly”/ “Flow” by Disclosure. Later he collaborated as a duo with Sam Smith Samuel Frederick Sam Smith was born on 19th May, 1 >> Read More... (vocals) and Jimmy Napes (writer) to have his first UK Hit with the song “Latch” in October 2010. In the year 2013, his group Disclosure got voted as the BBC Radio 1Xtra ‘Hot Ten For 2013’. He also scored tow continuous top 10 hit singles with the songs “White Nose” (number two) and “You And Me” (number ten). After that, he released his debut studio album in the year 2013 named “Settle” by PMR Label. The album received overwhelming critical and commercial success. The album charted in places like Europe and Australia. He has also toured in more than 40 American, European, and Canadian cities. Later he released his second studio album called Caracal that featured artists like Sam Smith, The Weeknd, Nao, Lion Babe, and Lorde. After announcing a year’s hiatus in 2017, he started working for his third studio album and released some of the songs along with Guy Lawrence. His song Magnets that featured Lorde was seen in Codemasters game, Dirt 4.
