Bob Krlic, also known as “The Haxan Cloak”, which was his stage name, is a musician. He is also a British producer. He is well recognized for his instrumental based music work, where he makes music entirely by using some instruments.

Early Life:

Bob Krlic, aka The Haxan Cloak, was born in 1985 in Wakefield (West Yorkshire) in England. Born and brought up in the same place, Krlic specialized in music and visual arts from the University of Brighton.

Career in Music:

Bob Krlic started his music career with his self-titled album, “The Haxan Cloak”. This album was a split second smash and made him famous throughout England. Out of nowhere, Bob’s album blew everyone’s mind and won him huge popularity all over. He made this album in his dad’s garage by using some instruments such as strings, mics, and a laptop. With this huge success under his belt, he relocated to London and made his second LP, ‘Excavation’, which was released in 2013. Unlike his first album, Excavation was made with additional bass and an electronic feel. This album was also taped by him, single handedly. Both of these albums stood as an exact mirror image of his character and creativity. His first album, “The Haxan Cloak”, was met with electronic influences, while “Excavation” was dotted with deep bass effects and gothic influences. Both of them were like movie sequels. The Haxan Cloak denotes a person’s spirit and his journey towards death, while Excavation represents the journey after death. Spin rated Excavation as 9 out of 10, and Pitchfork rated it an impressive 8.7 out of 10. It was also featured in The Rolling Stones magazine in 2013.

Bob Krlic also made collaborations with some bands. An example of this was the American band, ‘ The Body Click to look into! >> Read More... ’. In 2014, their album called I Shall Die Here, was produced by him. Spin quoted this album as “A Match Made in Hell”.

After taking London by storm, Bob earned his debut in the United States by touring around four of its famous cities including Washington DC, New York Click to look into! >> Read More... , Chicago and Los Angeles. With Robert Henke, Bob Krlic performed at the Brooklyn Masonic Temple and the performance soon made its way into the newspapers. This performance was described as an amorphous, ominous and immersive performance, by the New York Times, which was a transcendent plunge into darkness, as well as an overwhelming pressure.

Music Style & Stage Name:

Bob set his stage name after his first album, “The Haxan Cloak”, and his music style mostly has a vibe of black ambient music complemented with electronic and bass influences.
