Maia Mitchell

Maia Mitchell, born in Lismore, New South Wales on 18 August 1993 is professionally an Australian actor-singer. Having worked in dramas and TV series, she also co-starred in a Disney Channel's original movie Teen Beach and Teen Beach 2 as McKenzie. Her characters of Brittany Flune in Mortified, Natasha Ham in Trapped, Callie Jacob in The Fosters was some of her famous pieces of work enacted by her to gain her the much famous identity in public she adheres to till date. Maia Mitchell has a family of four. Her father is a taxi driver named Alex Mitchell, while her mother Jill Mitchell, works with the education system. As for her siblings, she only has a younger brother named Charlie Mitchell. Once she stated that her mother is her biggest inspiration. About her love-life, Rudy Mancuso- a vines’ hit star was the man she dated for about two years.

He was a successful man and had more than 1.6 million YouTube subscribers and 4.2 million Instagram followers. The reason behind so many followers was his comic style in Brazilian and Italian accents. Maria started playing guitar at a very young age. She pursued her education from Trinity Catholic College, Lismore. She has been said to have initiated her steps in acting and singing. At a young age, she indulged herself in dance and acting lessons and performed at school and theater. Her first role (Brittany Flune- Mortified) was at the tender age of 12. This first successful effort of hers as an actor brought her fame and many successful awards for the children series such like ‘AFI (Australian Film Institute) Award’ for Best Children’s Television Series and ‘Chicago’s International Children’s Film Festival Awards’.

The two season series consisting total of 26 episodes was quite successful. Trapped and its sequel Castaway were her subsequent Australian TV series where she performed the role of Natasha Hamilton. Her popularity conceded in K-9 (a spinoff of British series Doctor Who) which was a story focused on the ‘robot dog K-9.’ In US, her first work was in a Disney Channel television series Jessie, prior to her next work in the Disney Channel Original movie Teen Beach and its sequel. At present she stars in The Fosters as Callie Jacob (changed Callie Adams Foster in Season 3) a famous and successful drama series by ‘ABC Family’.
