Cristela Alonzo, the famous stand-up comedian was born in San Juan, Texas, in the US, on January 6th, 1979. Her parents are Natalia Gonzalez and Adalberto Alonzo. She is the eldest of four siblings. Later she moved to Los Angeles to seek after a profession as an entertainer. She is popular for her semi-biographical comedy "Cristela." Cristela is also a part of many shows and series, including Sons of Anarchy and General Hospital. She worked with Carlos Mencia and other stars, traveling on a bus for a couple of years. In January 2017, she debuted her first hour-long stand-up special, "Lower Classy," on Netflix. Aside from comedy, Alonzo devotes her time to advocacy, working with organizations such as Special Olympics Texas, People for the United Way, Planned Parenthood, LUPE, and Define American to confront many issues such as immigration, healthcare, and lower-income areas. In 2019 Cristela Alonzo, also released her memoir "Music to My Years: A Mixtape-Memoir of Growing Up and Standing Up". The memoir was preceded by a "My Affordable Care Act," stand-up tour. In 2019, she also appeared in Steven Soderbergh's film "The Laundromat" as a supporting character. She also voiced in ‘His Dark Materials.'
