Shane Harper

Shane was born in La Jolla, California and is the son of Tanya and Scott Harper. He is of German, Austrian, Scottish, and Jewish descent. Samantha (professional dancer) and Sullivan (model) are his siblings. He is an American actor, singer, songwriter, musician, and dancer. Harper began dancing, acting, singing, and playing guitar & piano at the age of 9. Besides, he was active in community theatre and competitive dance. His dance styles include ballet, hip-hop, lyrical, jazz, and tap. Besides that, he is a martial artist and Karate black belt since he was 12. Harper has done small roles in various shows and movies like High School Musical 2 (2007) and Re-Animated (2006) as the main dancer. Moreover, he was a lead dancer with Samantha Jade in a music video “Step Up” (2006). He acted as a Tenth Grader in Zoey 101 ( "Drippin' Episode" Season 3, episode 18 in 2007). He was one of the youngest lead dancer (the Nick 6) on Nickelodeon's Dance on Sunset (2008).

He was a Supporting dancer in Dance Revolution (kid’s competition 2006) and “So You Think You Can Dance” ( Season 6 in 2009). Harper in 2010, bagged his first two movie roles in the films namely ; My Name is Khan and Flipped, a minor character in each of the movies. He played a recurring role as Spencer Walsh on Disney Channel's Good Luck Charlie with Bridgit Mendler. Harper and Bridgit Mendler were in a relationship since May 2011. Later in November 2015, Mendler announced that they had ended their relationship. He was a guest star in an episode of Wizards of Waverly Place (as Fidel "Three Maxes and a Little Lady" Season 4, episode 5). Also, as a guest for promoting his single, "One Step Closer” in the show “So Random.” He acted as Austin Welch in 7 episodes of MTV's Awkward (TV series). He did his initial acts in Sean Tate in “Game Time: Tackling the Past” (2011) and Brandon in Dance-off (2014).

Besides, he acts as director in a Short film “An Apprentice” (2016). He is mainly famous for his two roles which include - Josh Wheaton in a Christian-based film, God's Not Dead (March 2014) and Spencer in Disney series Good Luck Charlie (2010-2014). His song "Hold You Up” from the movie “God’s Not Dead” was number 1 on Billboards Hot AC/CHR charts. Harper played the role of Brandon in the musical film Dance-Off with Kathryn McCormick. Then, he starred in short MTV series Happyland as Ian Chandler, co-starring Bianca A. Santos, and Katherine McNamara. His other prominent roles are as Stephen in “Lift Me Up” (2015), and Robbie in the TV movie ”Dirty Dancing” (2017 on ABC). He recently played the role of Josh Wheaton in the third film of the franchise God's Not Dead: A Light in Darkness (2018). Harper’s first single came out on March 30, 2010, with the title "Dance with Me." "One Step Closer" was his second single from his debut album in 2011. His debut album “Shane Harper” was out on April 12, 2011. "Rocketship" (2012) was the third and final single. On February 14, 2012, deluxe version of "Shane Harper" was out with four bonus tracks. In 2012, his second album “Dancing in the Rain” came in market. In 2016, Harper signed a record deal with Capitol. On August 11, 2016, he came with his music video for "Like I Did."
