He was raised in an upper middle class white Jewish family and had lived a very privileged life. He grew performing in theater musicals with the TADA! Theater, an award-winning arts education institute, and a youth theater. Right from the beginning, he knew subconsciously that he had a creative personality and achieved joy in entertaining those around him.

At the University of Buffalo, he majored in psychology and gained a Master’s Degree in social work from the Columbia University’s School of Social Work. Even though he spent his youth acting and performing, Jacob departed from his budding acting career to look for other options. He worked in the field of social work and psychology for a very long while until he got laid off in 2010.
After a whole decade, Jacob once again started to feel the itch to perform in front of a doting audience and to woo them. He gave performances at random gigs which even included MCing at children’s parties. Jacob portrayed the role of a New York City Jew from the neighborhood in a comedy rap video titled “Where ya at?” in 2011, which went viral and hit 230k views. It was then that he realized that it is acting and acting alone that will satisfy his creative urges.
He made a comeback into the theater with the world premiere of ‘Fannie Lou,’ where he played the role of The Reporter in the year 2012. In 2014 once again got engaged in the process of producing “Scenes and Songs from Fannie Lou” this time to perform at the Carnegie Hall. He reprised his role as The Reporter once again and also managed to add another character, Sheriff Bedford. The play was about the voting rights activist, the inspirational Fannie Lou Hamer. The play premiered only for one night and was an even to raise funds for the Center for Law and Social Justice at the Medgar Evers College.
Jacob felt a connection with Fannie and wanted to highlight the issues facing America back then. He has been an activist for all those suffering from social injustice or prejudice in any form. He feels that his will to uplift people’s social and individual conditions is a by-product of his education in social work. He intended to make acting his primary goal this time and to become a great actor, wanting to leave his legacy behind by the mode of his acting. Jacob is now famous for his performance as a Principal on the film Woody Allen Summer Project (2017), as the co-star in Vh1’s newest original movieThe Breaks (2017). He is also a part of CBS’s science fiction and crime drama Person of Interest (2016), a comedy web television called Red Oaks (2015) by Amazon Studios, and Show Me a Hero (2015) a TV miniseries by HBO.
