Richard Winsor

Richard Winsor is a British film actor and dancer, popular for his role as Dr. Caleb Knight on BBC One’s medical drama series, Casualty. He was born on January 4, 1982, in Nottingham. He studied at Ranby House Worksop College Preparatory School (Ranby House) in Nottinghamshire and was trained at the Central School of Ballet. Richard also attended the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.

When he was in the third year, he went to Ballet Central and performed at the Kirov Masterclass, helmed by Irek Mukhamedov. Richard also made a performance at the Bejart Ballet for One Touch of Venus and Bolero, which was held at the Royal Opera House. His brother, Thomas Winsor is an actor. In 2010, he starred as Tomas in the British 3D dance drama film, StreetDance 3D and the following year, he played as Father Francis in the British soap, Hollyoaks. Richard joined the contemporary dance company, New Adventures (previously called as Adventures in Motion Pictures owned by Matthew Bourne).

He was cast in the company’s US tour entitled Car Man until 2002. Aside from the US, they also toured in Japan and France. In the year 2004, he collaborated with Matthew Bourne’s ballet, Play Without Words. It received outstanding reviews and was later awarded two Olivier Awards. He also created and starred in Dorian Gray, a dance and theater adaptation of A Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde. He also played as Edward in the contemporary dance adaptation of Edward Scissorhands. In 2011, he played the lead role in Matthew Bourne’s very successful act, Swan Lake.

They toured in the UK, New York Click to look into! >> Read More... , and Tokyo and later, it was released as DVD (3D). In 2013, he collaborated with a dance company from Japan for the revival of Dorian Gray in Tokyo. Richard took Elle Magazine’s number one spot as the “Sexiest Dancer in the World”. Prior to this, he appeared in Elle’s 8-page photo, along with Victoria and Richard Beckham for the magazine’s Christmas special. Richard was debuted as a stage actor in Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein in 2008. This was held at The Royal Playhouse Northampton and earned fantastic reviews for his performance.
