Jonathan Niven Cryer, popularly known as Jon Cryer was born to Gretchen Cryer, an American lyricist, actress and playwright and Donald David Cryer, an American actor and singer on April 16, 1965, in New York. Cryer, at the age of four, stepped into the spotlight as a child model for a Vitamin bottle label.
He graduated in 1983 from Bronx High School of Science and as a teenager had attended Stagedoor Manor Performing Arts Training Centre. Cryer, at the age of twelve, had decided to enter the acting field, although his mother, herself an actress had certain reservations about it. Later, Cryer decided to skip college and went to the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA), London to act on his passion for acting.
