Alexander Skarsgard

Alexander Skarsgard is a Swedish-American actor. His full name is Alexander Johan Hjalmar Skarsgård. He is well known for his portrayal of a vampire named Eric Northman in True Blood, an HBO series. He is also known for the role of Brad Colbert in Generation Kill and another HBO series for the role of Meekus in Zoolander. Skarsgard was born on August 25, 1976, in Stockholm, Sweden. His father ‘s name is Stellan Skarsgard, who was also an actor, and his mother is a physician, and her name is My. He has two half-brothers and three siblings.

His father’s friend was a movie director, and he gave Skarsgard a chance to act in a movie when he was only seven. Skarsgard appeared in a Swedish movie named Åke och hans värld where he played the role of Kalle Nubb. After that, Skarsgard got his first break in the year 1989. He appeared in the Swedish television series playing the lead role in the series named Hunden som log. He was merely thirteen years old when he appeared in this show. He became famous because of his acting skills in the serial.

After receiving stardom, Skarsgard got so fed up of it that he quit acting for some time. When Skarsgard turned 18, he went to the national service of Sweden. For 18 months he served the Swedish military. After his duty as a military man, Skarsgard went to Leeds Beckett University, England in the year 1996 to study English. Skarsgard gave an extraordinary performance in the movie. He was even nominated for the Best Supporting Actor at the Guldbagge Awards. In Sweden, Skarsgard was titled five times as the Sexiest Man. After that, in 2004, Skarsgard moved to Los Angeles. In the award-winning show Generation Kill, he was selected for the role of Sergeant Brad “Iceman” Colbert.

After completing his work on the sets of Generation Kill, Skarsgard auditioned for the role of Eric Northman, a Vampire in an HBO series named True Blood.
