Sheetal Mallar is an Indian Fashion Model. She was born on the 23rd of April in the year 1974. She is currently based in the Cinematic City of India, Mumbai. Although she started her career in the show business as a model, she is now also a contemporary photographer. She shined under the limelight in the year 1994 when she won the Elite Look of the Year and also the Femina Look of the Year. Sheetal’s parents are from the small town of Padubidri in Mangalore, South India. They shifted to Mumbai after their marriage and Sheetal was born after that. Her father was a corporate lawyer. She completed her schooling from the Canossa Convent in the same city of Mumbai. She pursued her Bachelor’s and studied for her degree in Commerce from Mumbai’s Sydenham College.
However, she discontinued her studies in her final year of college and dropped out. Sheetal Mallar’s passion for modeling was the reason why she dropped out of college. She was an introvert and the idea of being under the spotlight never crossed her mind initially. However, at the age of 16 she went with her friend and randomly got selected for her first modeling venture. She saw the opportunity for her in the Industry and decided to leave her studies. Her family, especially her dad, was against her decision and very upset with it. Following her dreams, she decided to go with her gut and left her studies.
Mallar’s debut shoot was for the brand Danabhai Jewellers. In the year 1994, she was selected for the esteemed Elite Supermodel Content. She has shot ad campaigns for big international brands like Fendi and Armani. She was also the face of the popular Indian cosmetic brand Maybelline cosmetics. Goldflake, Wildstone and Motorola were some of her other ventures. Sheetal says that the career of a model comes with an expiry date. Hence, it’s always safe to have an additional career option.
For her, that option is following one of her another passions, that is photography. Her main interests include photographing people and urban sculptures. She likes to focus on the relationships people have with each other. The part of photography that she enjoys the most is the connecting with the subject for that brief moment. Mallar had an unsuccessful married life as she was hitched to the famous Italian Tennis Player Mose Navarra. Her marriage ended in three years.
