Born in the year 1969, Noah Baumbach is the son of famous film critics Jonathan Baumbach and Georgia Brown. Baumbach is a famous writer and a director. Baumbach is the third of four siblings and was born in Brooklyn. He graduated from the Midwood high school in the year 1987. He then completed his BA in English in 1991 from Vassar College.

After ten years Baumbach directed his second movie ‘The Squid and the Whale’, a semi-autobiographical comedy-drama based on his childhood in Brooklyn. ‘The Squid and the Whale’ was both a critical and nationwide hit. The movie received a Sundance Film Festival Award and an Academy Award nomination for the ‘Best Original Screenplay’ category. In the year 2007, Baumbach directed and wrote the movie‘Margot at the Wedding’ starring his wife, Jennifer Jason Leigh. Later Baumbach, along with his co-writers and co-directors, also directed short films like ‘New York Underground’ and ‘Clearing the air’. In 2010, he released Greenberg, which was nominated for the Golden Bear Award.
