Born in London, England, on July 17, 1960, James Mark Burnett is a British author, director, TV, and filmmaker. He is the son of Jean and Archie Burnett; both were an employee at Ford Motors factory. He was brought up in Dagenham. He entered in the British Army at the age of 17 and turned into a Section Commander in the Parachute Regiment.
He presented with the third Battalion, Parachute Regiment in C Company and saw activity amid the Falklands War from 1978 to 1982. Burnett shifted to Los Angeles in October of 1982, where he filled in as a caretaker and T-shirt sales representative on close-by Venice Beach.

In 2016, Burnett delivered the movie Ben-Hur, which was the adaptation of Lew Wallace’s Ben-Hur: A Tale of the Christ novel. It released on 9 August of 2016 and did not find success on box office. He has won many awards, honors, and affiliations.
